    Senior SQL Server Developer
Summary:
    The McIntyre Group is recruiting for a motivated Senior SQL Developer who will be responsible for the development, modification and organization of databases to provide Information Services with a long-term perspective on leveraging of database technology with regards to opportunities that enhance our business needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Administer and maintain SQL databases including the organization's Data Warehouse
  • Utilize knowledge of relational databases, SQL, T-SQL, Microsoft Access, OLAP and various reporting tools
  • Apply standard techniques in the development and documentation of reports written using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Provide a high level of quality review to ensure accuracy in reporting; and write stored procedures, triggers, set up jobs, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) / Data Transformation Services (DTS) packages for supporting all data imports and exports. In addition, candidate should have hands-on experience in  SSIS and SSAS
  • Coordinate with other Information Service staff to ensure a high level of communication about Microsoft SQL server issues while managing the expectations of business departments (SQL Database Developer will work with the SQL DBA to confirm that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly; run diagnostic tools to identify database performance bottlenecks; suggest appropriate corrective actions to improve database performance; and develop additional monitoring tools)  
  • Perform regular database maintenance, which includes installing and testing new applications databases
  • Determine how data should be organized, who should have access to different data and how it should be displayed
  • Work effectively as part of a team in resolving database and report issues escalated through the Help Desk in a timely manner
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent technical training, preferably in Computer Science or related field of study
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with Microsoft SQL Server and at least 2 years of experience creating a Data Warehouse using Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services to develop OLAP and other Business Intelligence tools
  • Recent experience creating SSIS packages
  • Proficient in Database development with Microsoft SQL Server to support the reporting needs
  • Knowledge with the following: report writing tools (i.e., Microsoft SSRS, Microsoft Access and SSAS)
  • Troubleshooting Microsoft SQL Server database issues
  • The following is highly preferred: knowledge and experience with healthcare databases; certification in either Microsoft database administration - Microsoft Certified Database Developer (MCDBA) or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)
