Assistant Buyer
    Are you an organized individual with experience in merchandising and a passion for excellent customer service? The McIntyre Group is looking for an Associate Buyer to lead contract administration activities, follow up on all purchase orders assignments, and communicate supply status updates and deadlines. This is a great opportunity to develop important relationships both internally and externally in a fast-paced industry.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day administration for all assigned open orders
  • Manage published price lists and the in stock positions of our web catalogs
  • Create PO's for factories and communicate terms, conditions, special requirements and instructions
  • Identify any lead times or delivery problem with shipments
  • Develop effective communication protocols with customer service, merchandising, or sales
  • Assist in setting up replenishment rules and implement those rules in turn buying
  • Maintain and publish sell prices and net costs for all branded product lines
  • Establish regular communications with suppliers and document availability, pricing, and lead times
  • Setup new items and product detail in our ERP system
  • Develop and introduce process improvements and systems
  • Implement initiatives to tie forecasts to demand history
  • Collaborate with the sales teams on changes to min/max and safety stock
  • Communicate purchase forecasts to appropriate suppliers
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and manage physical inventory and cycle counting processes
  • Develop strong relationships with manufacturers at all levels of their organizations
  • Develop good vendor relationships
Requirements
  • Four year degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years of prior procurement or customer service experience a plus
  • Inventory management/merchandising experience a plus
  • Strong written and oral communications skills required
  • Excellent relationship management skills required
  • Demonstrated competency with MS Office
