    Senior Reinsurance Accountant
Summary:
    The McIntyre Group is seeking a Senior Reinsurance Accountant for a company is Stamford, CT.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly assumed journal entries for premiums, losses etc. by business unit and LOB
  • Prepare journal entries for deferred acquisition cost and expenses allocation by business unit for monthly GAAP close
  • Analyze balance Sheet accounts and P&L accounts for consistency and accuracy by business unit
  • Reconcile underwriting system data to appropriate General Ledger accounts on a monthly basis
  • Prepare BEA-45 schedule quarterly
  • Analyze underwriting system data for reasonableness during monthly close process
  • Prepare Assumed Schedule F annually
  • Work with underwriters to compute and record monthly premium treaty estimates and actuals in the ledger
  • Work with affiliated companies to record monthly account activity
  • Prepare contingent commission accruals
  • Prepare trend reports for senior management
Requirements:
  • Five years' experience with General Ledger entries and Reinsurance transactions on both a GAAP and Statutory basis
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting
  • General Ledger experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Access, Word and PowerPoint experience
