    Junior Valuation Analyst
Summary:
    McIntyre Financial has been asked to conduct a search for a top tier buy side fund in the CT market. Our client has a great history of promoting within and quality of life. They offer a tremendous amount of exposure to a variety of products and strategies. This role is responsible for the verification of all pricing for the firms trading activity and the incumbent must have a strong background with interest rate swaps and yield curve models. Strong mathematical skills are a must and a thorough understanding of market pricing tools is a must. i.e. Bloomberg, Reuters.
Responsibilities:
  • Interpret real-time market data, third party provided information and running internal pricing models and valuation tools
  • Monitor the intra-day pricing and ensure accurate end of day prices for all products
  • Determine the correct prices for all bonds, bank loans and credit default swaps throughout the day
  • Determine the closing price by defining and using the appropriate benchmarks and yield spreads as well as direct broker quotes
  • Monitor and adjust the valuations as necessary for all IRS, FRA,OIS and CMS using quoted rates and existing models to construct the necessary curves
  • Calculate and analyze forward exchange rates based on quoted rates and interpolation
  • Assist in determining daily and monthly performance and net asset values for portfolios transacting in futures, forwards, bonds, swaps, equities and options.
  • Interact with the independent administrator to ensure they have priced the portfolio accurately
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years relevant internship or 1 year relevant work experience.
  • BA / BS in Accounting or Finance , MBA a plus
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of fx, commodity, equity, interest rate and fixed income trading and p &L calculations
  • Understanding of FAS 157 Fair Value Measurements
  • Strong Excel, Bloomberg, Reuters, and analytical skills
