    Junior Quality Assurance Analyst
Summary:
    The McIntyre IT Division is seeking a Junior Quality Assurance Analyst for an immediate need at a rapidly expanding company in Shelton, CT. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills with experience in testing, deploying, troubleshooting and supporting software applications. The incumbent will aid in the testing, deployment, training, and maintenance of our products used by the client's customers. Responsibilities:
  • Manual testing
  • Evaluate and test new and modified applications, components, documentation, diagrams and flow charts prior to release
  • Write and execute detailed test plans for applications and/or code releases
  • Manage Web-based bug-tracking, test planning, testing and version release
  • Verify that programs function according to written requirements and established guidelines
  • Utilize programs to test, track and verify defects in applications
  • Recommend system and application improvements and corrections
  • Monitor performance in production to prevent operating problems and ensure efficiency of operation
  • Write documentation to describe program evaluation, testing and correction
  • Investigate bug reports and set up tests (based on user input) to locate and correct production operating errors
  • Investigate and troubleshoot customers' reported issues and respond proactively
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
  • Basic knowledge of standard testing and source-control methodologies
  • Wide knowledge of programming methodologies and languages (in either an academic or professional capacity)
  • Experience with web-based applications essential
  • Understand relational database concepts, basics of Web development/web services/Database SQL queries
  • Strong technical communication skills, good leadership and motivational skills, strong team building skills, highly motivated and flexible
  • Works well both independently and in teams
  • Ability to think critically
  • Able to interact and develop open and trusting relationships with peers, management, vendors, and customers
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Technology or Related Fields
