    Manager, Credit
Summary:
    Manage the credit, collections and contract administration functions. Maintain compliance with the Retail Credit Policy. Manage and develop a team of three or four professionals.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage contracts, credit requests, collections, and the routine monitoring of existing customer accounts. Perform credit analysis and decision-making on credit requests for prospective and existing customers
  • Process daily credit requests from the Commodity Sales group in a timely fashion
  • Oversee the process of auto-approval and denial of credit requests in addition to the manual review
  • Manage and oversee the timely execution of contract processing and the creation of new templates or changes to existing templates
  • Perform ongoing reviews of customer credit worthiness in a timely manner and ensure the proper maintenance of deposits, cash, guarantees, etc.
  • Perform routine credit analysis and maintenance of large customer accounts in order to mitigate impact to bad debt
  • Manage the automated scorecard and credit repository that the Commodity Sales group uses to conduct upfront credit applications
  • Periodically review the credit and collections process to identify any weaknesses and liaise with IT, Finance, and Sales as needed to improve the process
  • Assess the performance of credit and collections vendors taking action to add or remove vendors as necessary
Requirements:
  • BS in a finance, economic, risk discipline
  • Master's degree in business or legal area preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in credit and credit analysis
  • Ideally and preferably a minimum of two years direct supervisory or staff management experience
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills - beyond the basics
  • Experience analyzing financial statements including balance sheets, cash-flow statements, etc.
  • Experience in presenting business concepts and issues to senior management
  • Data collection and data analysis
  • Strong and demonstrable staff management/coaching skills
